Dry and Cure Times - Oil Based Finish

Your floor has been refinished with a stain or a natural tinted penetrating wood sealer, followed by two coats of Bona Woodline oil based polyurethane. It is a very durable, moisture-resistant surface finish.

Dry time: 8-12 hours. The floor can take light foot traffic after 8-12 hours, but Bona recommends 24 hours if possible. Furniture replaced after 72 hours, but the floor is susceptible to scuffing or marring prior to completion of the curing time. Work may be performed on the floor once it's dry, but care should be taken to protect it.

Cure Time: After 24 hours the floor is 40% cured but the full curing process takes approximately 14 days.  Do not replace walk-off mats or throw rugs until finish is fully cured. Do not drag or slide furniture. Do not clean with water or detergent during the curing process. Use only a dry cloth for cleaning during the first two weeks.

If you are planning to tape down rosin paper or use painters tape, we recommend using 3M Safe Release tape and only use after the cure time.
